I don't read it.
First, it has a picture on the main page, which I think is annoying.
Second, it has an annoying color scheme. Why not keep it the same?
Third, it has too many pictures and not enough text.

I like idle because it helps take the work out of ignoring binspam in the firehose. Usually I find only 50% of the front page interesting. That isn't to say that the topics don't interest others .. just not me.
Idle is a good place to put stuff that makes most people chuckle that isn't quite 'news worthy'.
If they would stop this crazy "/. hate mail archive" stuff and populate it with things that interest people that don't watch American Idol .. I'd visit it more :)
