They should have just made IT products easy to use and opinionated in the first place. Application developers having to even think about lower level OSI stuff like virtual nics is ridiculous. Cloud infrastructure today is like the olden days where you had to execute your sound blaster driver in a terminal before you booted up wolfenstien3D. Its only a matter of time before somebody remembers that resource allocation is initialization and all of that magic IT stuff in the cloud just melts away.

I read it and even looked at the pictures. Unfortunately, you can ask any LLM to tell you the first line of The Bible, or the 10th line of Count of Monte Cristo and both chatgpt and copilot (after prompting away the safety features) can reliably regurgitate the exact text. The way it stores and decodes the data doesn't change the fact that the data is in there and it is possible to get it out.

I want this. Here's why. I don't want to spend hours researching new products. I'd rather just give an AI a $5 a week allowance that it can save up and spend. Similar to buying a loot crate type subscription box, but the contents of the box are algorithmically generated rather than curated by a real person.

Unfortunately, that's probably what we will get at first. The costs of returning things will be distributed among all customers until AI is "good enough", and then they will kick the people who return too many things off the platform. Good luck buying things without an AI once all the regular shopping websites are gone.

I would not assume this is AI related. Just look at the revenue streams of the company.

According to this revenue breakdown , windows and windows server are not growing revenue, and there are A LOT of people working on those products. I would guess most of the layoffs are from windows. Think about the team who was responsible for trying to put the windows 8 metro UI on xbox one. Or what about the people that used to maintain windows solitaire. There's a lot to trim in the windows team.

Again, why do you want this? Why would you not rather let the black men out of prison. Your take is a boot licking fascist one, except the boot is on a different foot. You can't fight fascism by setting up a police state. It sounds like your version of social justice is not actually justice. Which is why you have to qualify it with an adjective. If you want to send fascists to prison, just lock yourself in a cage.
